Giving Back…
Chosen Charities
At HMV Competitions we believe in giving back to our communities. That’s why we choose three deserving charities for each Prizegiving and let the ticketholders choose who scoops the charity pot.
When you buy your ticket you will be asked to nominate your preferred charity. The charity pot will be divided according to the votes of ticket buyers.
Age UK has been commissioned by Councils and the Clinical Commissioning Group to provide Community Information & Advice Hubs. The Hubs enable all residents aged 18 or over to receive high quality information, advice and access to services that meet their needs.
Age UK has a well established range of services that have been developed over 30 years of experience in meeting the needs of older people . These services are constantly under review to ensure that they are fully effective and efficient in their delivery, and consistent with the requirements of our funders, and most of all, meet the needs of local people and their families and carers.

Escorting
A Home Assistant may escort you out by bus, in a taxi, using a transport service such as Ring and Ride, walking and if arranged, in the Home Assistant’s own car.
Please note – a Home Assistant is not a carer and is not trained in assisting clients to transfer from a wheelchair or scooter into a vehicle. A Home Assistant may only provide a light supporting arm and cannot assist you otherwise to walk or move about.
Finances
A Home Assistant may help you write a cheque or go to the post office to pay a bill, but they are not allowed to manage your finances for you. If you are having difficulty managing your finances, let the home support service office know and we will endeavour to find a service that can assist you.
If you want the Home Assistant to collect your pension or access your bank account you must arrange this with the Home Support Service office and not the Home Assistant.
If you ask the Home Assistant to go shopping for you, we ask you to collect and keep the receipts in case any discrepancies arise. You will be asked to sign a cash sheet when any money is paid to or from the Home Assistant. You must inform the office if you are not asked to sign a cash sheet.

Howard Rose, Founder of HMV Competitions, works at Balsall Common Primary School, so it is near to his heart,
Balsall Common Primary School is widely considered to be one of the best primary schools in the country and received an Outstanding OFSTED judgement in February 2014.
It is a larger than average, 3 form entry, semi-rural primary school, that has a wide geographic catchment. Ethnic minority groups are lower than the National Average at 16.5% (NA 28.7), with a number of Travellers, Romany and Gypsy pupils (RAISEonline 2013).
Children who attend this school are supported in becoming well-balanced and independent youngsters, who thrive on challenge, and are thoroughly engaged with their learning. The end result is socially well adjusted, high attaining young people, who go on to make the very best of their potential.
The excellent start begins in nursery and continues throughout the school with an exciting, stimulating and cohesive curriculum that supports learners’ engagement using strategies like Mantle of the Expert and Building Learning Power.
The school provides a huge quality of extracurricular activities, such as football, tennis, Cookery and much, much more!
Balsall Common Primary School is constantly looking for new and imaginative ways to improve the learning experience for its pupils.
They are currently looking for funding for £15,000 to develop a Forrest School area. This will provide an invaluable outside learning space that can be used by all 741 children currently in the school.
It could also be used by the wider community including Cubs, Scouts, Girl Guides and other play groups.
Activities would centre around nature and include studying wildlife, conservation, pond dipping, fire making, basic survival skills amongst many others.
The staff at the school work hard and enthusiastically, in close partnership with very supportive parents, and are seen very much as a core strength of the school, with the governing body being well informed, with a consistent and supportive approach to all school matters.
With your vote and HMV Competitions donation we could go a long way to putting this dream into reality for our 741 children and many more in the years to come.
The Lily Mae Foundation supports Parents and Families who have tragically and traumatically lost a baby to Stillbirth or to Neonatal Death. Despite its frequency, there is very little public perception of the devastating impact of Stillbirth and Neonatal Death on Parents and their Families.
